BadCertificateChainIncomplete error while connecting WinCC OPC UA server with UA Expert

aatifshaikh66 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm a bit new to handling PLC projects and unfamiliar with Siemens software, so I'm uncertain where I'm making mistakes. My initial object is to connect the WinCC OPC UA server with a client (UA Expert). But unfortunately, I'm unable to overcome the certification error. The list of installed software is in the image attached below. I have installed WinCC on mySIMATIC IPC427E (Microbox PC), followed by WinCC OPC UA server certification generation and installation via the WinCC certificate manager (image attached below). Moving forward, in the TIA Portal project -> HMI -> Runtime settings -> OPC settings -> I selected None and Basic256 security policies (with None message security). After deploying the code into the system- I tried connecting the WinCC OPC UA server with UA expert software (selecting None). Despite successful connection and communication, the following errors keep coming. However, when attempting to connect with Basic256, I couldn't connect at all, getting an error code, "BadApplicationSignatureInvalid". Unable to get local issuer certificate [BadCertificateChainIncomplete]. Unable to get certificate CRL [BadCertificateRevocationUnknown]. Unable to verify the first certificate [BadCertificateChainIncomplete]. ok [BadCertificateUntrusted] Does anyone know how I can get rid of this error and what could be the problem causing this issue? Software installed TIA Portal V18 update 3 Sinamics Startdrive Advance V18 SP2 Update 1 STEP 7 Professional WinCC Professional V18 Update 3

Of course the client side is a different one in your situation but the Server Side should match. You have to trust the Client certificate in the specific folder, only then the certificate could work bye Murof
