Batch launch coordinator goes into error mode on batch server

Bheja Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hie, we areexecuting onephama project in whichwe have proposed simaticbatch system.Also we haveproposed Redundant AS, OS servers & batch servers for reliable operation & with 4-5 clients. For batch servers, we have purchased dell's PE 2900server grade raid 1PCs. On both the batch servers, we have installed Windows 2003 sp1 OS edition & simatic batch 7.0 sp1. Now on engineering station we have installedWindows XP SP2 with Simatic PCS7 V7.0 SP1. All requrired configuration for batch is made in ES &performed compile, propogate, merge & download as per manual. All above operations gets executed without any error. After downloading to batch server, when we try to start batch launch coordinator, we get "PCS7 reboot" error & batch launch coordinator does not start. We need solution on urgent basis since plant is under commissioning phase. Also if somebody had experienced the same problem, then please do reply. Also if more information is required on above, we are ready to furnish the same. regards, Bheja

April Posts: 1776 Rating: (95)	Hi, PCS 7 V7.0 SP1 is not released for Windows 2003 SP1 (you need SP2) See FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/2334224 Also see the PCS 7 readme file chapter 2.4

Bheja Posts: 18 Rating: (0)	Hi, The OS installation on both the batch servers is Windows Server 2003 SP2. Now the problem is that we are not able to acheive redundancy between batch servers & only one of the batch servers goes into run mode while second server goes into PCS7 reboot error mode. We have also checked in the event viewer list & reason for error is because of redundancy control state failure. Please suggest some remedy to acheive redundancy between batch servers. Regards, Bheja
