BATF light

cx430 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I got problem with BATF light ( Siemens 6ES7-315). I changed battery but still have red light. PLC works fine, only when lose power I have to reload program from the card. Any idea what is the problem? CPU?

Have you refered the procedure in FAQ, how to replace the battery? I think this is old Cpu and you should find the details in manual too.

Ayman Elotaify Platinum Expert Joined: 5/28/2008 Last visit: 9/9/2024 Posts: 4515 Rating: (839)	Hello, As per this FAQ: SIMATIC PLC S7-300, CPU Specifications CPU 312 IFM to CPU 318-2 DP In section 1.3.2, BATF led comes on when: "The backup battery is missing, faulty or not charged. Note Also lit if a rechargeable battery is installed. Reason:The user program is not backed up the rechargeable battery." May be the CPU do not sense that there is a battery installed. May be the battery socket do not make a good contact internally with the CPU. I suggest to buy a new CPU315-2DP + MMC and replace this old CPU. With the new one, you will not need any batteries. Hope this helps.
