What's the difference between cpu-31xC and cpu-31x? regards Hello, In the old types of S7-300 CPUs, Memory cards was used and also battery module. In new types only MMC is required. Which memory cards can you use with a S7-300 CPU? In the above link, the CPUs with MC are those CPUs which have a battery module, and CPUs with MMC are which doesn't have a place for batteries. Where can you find information about the S7-300/400 backup batteries? CPU31x-C are called Compact CPUs. It have intergated I/Os with technological functions. CPU31x are standard CPUs. And it does not have any integrated I/Os. For detailed differences, please see technical specificatation of CPUs you want to compare. Just write the part number or type of CPU in the search field and see its technical specification. Hope this helps.

I would like to add a small thing which is that you do not have any option to use different memory cards. SIMATIC MMC size is different than other commercial memory cards.
