begining with WinCC

I'm a complete beginer and I downloaded manual "Getting started with WinCC". I have made a simple projet in STEP7 and want to make a simple visualisation on PC. I want that user can operate with process from WinCC. I know how to make a simple procject that works, by adding externals tags, and using merker memory (e.g. M3.0) in parallel with conditions from buttons in STEP7 project. So by clicling on button in WinCC eg.M3.0 is set on 1 and that will cause some actions in laddere diagram in STEP 7. I know that tis is amateur solution, and my question is how it is done in reallity? Should I create some data blocks in step7 project and whan user click on process screen some varialbe in DB will be set and cause action? Is that it? Pleas give me some starting advices. Thanks

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hi yes, you should e.g. use datablocks instead of Mx.x (because you just have a quite limited number of them) With the following FAQ you can easily /automaticly can transfer your datablock-variables to WinCC tag management.
