Hello guys; Unfortunately, Step 7 Lite is designed for centralised I/O configuration only, on S7300 level CPUs. STEP 7 Lite is designed for traditional PLC applications with centralized I/O. STEP 7 Lite is designed for non-networked automation applications using the SIMATIC S7-300 PLC, the C7 all-in-one PLC and HMI, and the intelligent CPUs of the ET200 distributed I/O family. [From the step 7 Lite presentation page]. Basically that means no remote I/O over Profibus-DP, and no Ethernet CPs; MPI is only used for programming the CPU, no Global Data or S7 functions available. No FM modules eitherYou need Step 7 Basis (or Professional)for this type of configuration. Maybe the table found on the link below can help you sort out the issue: Differences between Step 7 Lite, Step 7 Basis and Step 7 Professional: http://www.plcdev.com/step_7_lite_professional_differences Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Ach... as I suspected.Where can I get the Step 7 basic? Is it available for free or do I have to pay yet another fortune to Siemens? |
