By far the easiest method is DataMonitor : https://www.automation.siemens.com/hmi/html_76/products/software/wincc_optionen/data-monitor.htm However it is not necessarily the best. The best way is subjective and depends on the end-user and integrators skill sets. Your available options are : DataMonitor - a web based reporting option that gives view-only WinCC graphics via IE, an Excel plug-in for report generation and the ability to query WinCC historical data on an ad-hoc basis for analysis purposes. IndustrialDataBridge - a transaction server that transfers data from WinCC into another repository such as Excel, CSV, database, etc. Data can be transferred on a cyclic schedule or triggered by an event. Connectivity Pack - a suite of drivers allowing you to program your own interface onto the WinCC databases. This is a programmers option as you need to program the interface so you would need to know SQL, databases, ADO and a scripting language such as VB, C++, etc. There are also some premium add-ons for data extraction. However as I have never used any of them I cannot comment on their functionality or practicality. |
