BF flashing red when the rs232 was accidentally plugged into the DP port

hy there,

I'm having a problem on the SF in solid red but the BF flashing red. What should i do? this happened when the rs232 was accidentally plugged into the DP port. i try to connect and go online but seem that i can do it. do i need a special cable to do the communication

You have some PC adapter, what CPU type you have? 315 2DP?

You have nothing connected to DP port (slave)?

You have 2 port left MPI and right DP, have you tried to connect on the left port? MPI?

yes i connected it to the left port but everytime i tried to go online it said no connection. do i need to do some setting?

 Tell us the code of your PC Adapter....

Can I ask you how did you connect an RS 232 in the DP? The DP port on the CPU is female, "females" are usually also those that come out from PC because the PC is male, and then if you take away the Profibus Plug the SF and DP LEDs are the first fixed and the second flashing like you said.

if I good understand, you've plug RS-232 to DP port of CPU, as stated on name of Topic. This is completely wrong, because ports on CPU are RS-485 with other pin definition, simply not compatible with RS-232 pin also interface system. Look pls to system manual of CPU. For connection to CPU from PC you need adap[ters like Ste39 sugested, simply you cant use simple adapters. Give us info.
