BF2 LED Blinking Randomly

Sometimes after 5-10 mins, sometimes after hours and sometimes even after month. Whenever this blinking of BF2 LED happens, the counters and other values are reset. The machine does not stop. I could not find any information related to it in Hardware Diagnostics Buffer. The PLC is working as master. There are many non-siemens drives connected. There are 4 DP-DP couplers as well. I monitored the network with Amprolyzer software. To my surprise, it did not catch/detect any bus fault or faulty node when the BF2 LED blinked. What can be the cause of this issue? olloy Silver Member Joined: 8/27/2010 Last visit: 4/13/2024 Posts: 417 Rating: (37)	Hi! According to the manual for given CPU, BF led should lit constantly in case of bus failure. I suppose module is defective in case led is blinking randomly. Next thing you can check is a power. Please measure the power at the CPU and make sure it is in normal range (19.2 to 28.8 VDC), normally 24 VDC. Last, but not least is electro-magnetic interferences, which means somewere profibus cable is layed together with power-cables and/or with lot of frequency regulators. Then check the terminating switches, check the distances and repeaters/couplers power supply. Hope it helps
