BLACK TD Display

GDNICK Member Joined: 11/1/2013 Last visit: 9/17/2021 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody We had in out stock a TD display 6ED1 055-4MH00-0BA0 since 2010 I decided to use it in one application and tried to prepare the logo software and I took it out of its packaging for first time just 1 hour ago. I connected the display as should but it shows a blanc LCD screen. The backlight lights up but all I can see is all the dots of the LCD display in black. When I power up the display I manage to see for 1/10 of a second the message: FW V1.05.06 and then the black screen as described above. The function keys used in my program are operating. By pressing them I am getting the expecting action and I can also track them using the on-line monitor from Logosoft. All the other keys are not working Any suggestions?

By looking the display through a wide angle I noticed that letters are actually displayed. The display behaves like if I had adjusted the contrast to the maximum setting. I hardly managed to enter into the contrast setup menu but unfortunately the display doesn't respond to contrast change. I can see the menus working but I can only achieve it by looking into the display at an angle of 150 deg or more.

I will either change the chip if it is doable or I will install a new LCD display. It costs less than 10 Eur Thanks anyway for your support
