bode diagram / FFT diagram in SIMOTION C TRACE

Mothilal Posts: 165 Rating: (25)	Hello what is the use of bode diagram/ FFT diagram in SIMOTION C CPU C2XX trace(refer attached document)? how can we use these Bode/FFT diagram and when it is used? we are normally using "timing diagrm" to monitor the PLC I/O , global variable and drive parameters like motor current .torque...etc. we dont have sufficientexplanation regrading these diagram in simotion help file also. if possible please send any trace file or documentregarding bode/FFT diagram Thanks Attachment bode_FFT.zip (529 Downloads)

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	Bode diagrams are used for funding optimum tuning values of the drive using frequency analysis: gain, integral components mostly and setting filters when necessary. Sinamics has an auto-tuning feature, so for most cases, manual tuning utilizing those plots should not be necessary.

HandyAndy Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	Hey mister expert, Did you not notice the Simotion C controller referenced in the question? Autotuning is only possible with Sinamics drives. Simotion C controllers are typically used with analog or 3rd party profibus drives, not Sinamics drives. I am using the Simotion C240 for some retrofit projects with analog drives. Tuning the position loop seems to be a fuzzy process. Can the FFT trace feature make that process more concrete? If so, what is the process? Thanks in advance, Andy
