Dear Siemens expertise, We're upgrading the drive for vertical crane from parker690+ to SINMAICS G120. In the below screenshot, you can find all drive hardware information and the configuration as well. Backup of the program is uploaded in attachment also. As you can see in the backup, I used relay output 2 for motor holding brake open r52.12 connected to external relay. unfortunately, I was not able to use siemens brake relay because its connection terminals to brake coil is a single phase and the brake coil for the used motor is 3 phase. is there anyway to connect siemens brake relay to 3 phase ? However, the crane is designed to lift a shaft by using a chains from each side. P219 for braking resistor braking power was set to 0.2kW So, coming to the issues we faced are: ►without load (Shaft): −After run signal, brake release and motor move as required but when it is OFF signal and brake close, the crane chains goes down slowly, it looks like there was no enough braking power. ►with load (Shaft) −After run signal, brake release and motor move as required but when it is OFF and brake close, the load (Shaft) drops quickly or sags. please guide me what should I do in order to control the brake in this case ? I feel like I programmed everything right but something is missing I couldn't figure it out. Thank you in advance. AttachmentCranebackup_Siemens.zip (239 Downloads) |

Hello, If those values doesn`t match to your actual brake control, you can face issues like sagging or starting against the closed brake. The good explanation of the interconnection of the motor control with those values is shown in chapter 8.13, figure 8-19 of the CU240E-2 operating instruction manual. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109782865 |

Hello Wejdan, The basic behavior is pretty much the same using p1215=3, but usually you have to consider bigger delay times due to the additional external components compared to the direct connection. AttachmentCU240E-2_operating-instructions-manual_brake.pdf (333 Downloads) |
