Hello safety4everPotentially Yes would be my answer for that. To begin with, BS(RS) 60-63, the whole RI and RJ area (255 Words each) are retentive (only cleared by an overall reset). Using them also saved you from consuming Flagwords,you didn't have to declare them in the symbol table (you actually couldn't), if used in your own "standard" blocks they could help make your Blocks more "transportable" between projects (as long as you used a CPU that had this area) as well asmaking your program appear more "sophisticated" (people would understand and possible "fiddle" with the logicif FW's are used but would be more hesitantif they come across usage of "RS xy"). Absolutely, just make sure you check if the original logic relied on the retentvity of them or if they simply have been used as "scratchwords" to store intermediate results. I hope this helps |
