Build image

Hi,

I've tried to build the image but once copied to microSD the IOT boot correctly I guess (stat led blinking green) but not accessible in SSH at default IP 192.168.200.1 in any of the 2 ethernet ports.

Have you tested it?

Yes, it was tested. Maybe some combination was missed.

Do you happen to have the output from the debug port debug port (X14)?

No I can't connect to the port for debug, but I've tried to build the image several times and it's always the same result, it's not possible to connect via SSH to IP 192.168.200.1.

I've build the image on Ubuntu 20.04 with the following command without any error:

./kas-docker --isar build kas-iot2050-example.yml

I've tried also to build the lxde version same result, and I've also tried to build the example with package lock same result.

./kas-docker --isar build kas-iot2050-example.yml:kas/opt/package-lock.yml

Have you tried?

I'm currently finishing a rebuild of master and will test that against a Basic device with original firmware. What is your setup, Basic or Advanced?

Update: Revision 65b5aafeb827 on Basic works fine here, including ssh to X1P1 via 192.168.200.1.

When I try to build the version 65b5aafeb8273fcee74054f8aad112287d46a872 downloading the zip file https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050/archive/65b5aafeb8273fcee74054f8aad112287d46a872.zip I get this error message:

ERROR: ParseError at /repo/recipes-bsp/u-boot/u-boot-iot2050-basic_2020.x-upstream.bb:1: unparsed line: 'u-boot-iot2050-basic_2019.01-ti-sdk.bb'

Any Idea?

works fine here (didn't fully build that, just started it). So I suspect your Linux system is not compatible. What's your build environment (distro version, docker version)?

Ok now the build has started correctly, I think that maybe the extraction from zip file last time has corrupted some files.

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 to build the image as I wrote on the first post.

I'll give you feedback at the end of the building process.

Update: The build has finished without errors, but the behavior is the same, no connection with SSH at IP 192.168.200.1

I've tried to build a fork version (https://github.com/davimaf/meta-iot2050/archive/master.zip) and all works fine ( I can connect via SSH at first attempt) but the official release and also the commit you told me all have SSH not working.

Have you any idea of the reason?

I need to build the new version to test a 32 bit application done by my Customer and 32 bit support has been introduced only in this release not in the one downloadable form SIOS (where SSH works correctly) https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109780231

Strange problem. But as you started bisecting for change that causes the SSH regression for you, could your nail that down to a single commit?

In fact, the most suspicious one is https://github.com/siemens/meta-iot2050/commit/16bc4f221de26386b3c6051e0fc05e1eabb3c68b which switches the Ethernet port names under Linux. But you tried both ports already, didn't you?
