BW500/l Periodic Modbus Timeout

DocIshi Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	When communicating with the BW500/L over Modbus I get a Modbus timeout once hour. The minimum poll time is 500ms and the timeout is set to 1 second as per the manual. I get other timeouts randomly at other times but at almost the same minute (plus/minus 5 minutes) of every hour I get a Modbus hour. The minute within the hour depends on when the Modbus master boots up.

The BW500's hardware was changed about two years ago when we added an isolated RS485 port to improve communications with a multidrop network. The FW was also changed to improve MODBUS communications, taking the timeout responce from 1100mS to around 400mS. We tested the BW500 with Kepserver @19200 to ensure that communicates ran without error for a period of 24 hours with the retries set to 1. What baud rate are you using and how many registers are you polling in one read? I hope this helps
