C7 - CP342-5 compatibility

sergiop Regular Member Joined: 3/7/2008 Last visit: 1/10/2020 Posts: 10 Rating: (2)	Hi! - I have a problem when trying to add a CP342-5 (6GK7342-5DA02-0XE0 v5.7) working as a slave to a C7 633/P fw 1.2.1. I’m using STEP7 5.4 SP3 (release 5.4.3.0) and I'm installingthe CP342-5 in the C7 rack without using any IM361, just adding it beside an 8AI modulepreviously installed and working.After that, I install the CP342-5 in the rack, put the CP342-5 in the HW configuration and download it to the CPU. This action causes the system to crash, the CPU refuses to go into RUN mode because of “a parameterization error”.Removing the CP342-5 from the rack saves the error condition in the CPU, even keeping it in the HW configuration.The help associated points to the event 16#49A0. What am I doing wrong? Are these C7, CP and STEP7 version compatible one to another? Is it possible to have some incoherent loaded data in the CPU able to cause this problem? J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Sergiop, would you mind posting a foto about the way you connected the IO to the C7 633 as you mentioned it? I would really like to see it. Until now I was 100% convinced this will never work, not as long as you do use a C7 633. The only C7 Systems I know of that are equipped with P Bus Interface are C7 635 or C7 613 ... but surely not C7 633. To use additional modules with this CPU you need a IM 361, no way around it. I have to admit, my Spanish or Portuguese is not really good but is it possible that the CP diagnostics says something like CP is not reachable? Best regards J_Bell

This C7 633P seems to be a customized solution, it's installed in a rotary NH3 screw compressor, and the external 8AI module is connected to the C7 using a special accesory similar to Siemens 6ES7 635-0AA00-6AA0. The attached photo shows that, this special accesory can hold two modules, we insert the CP342-5 in the free slot. Attachment C7.zip (339 Downloads)
