Calulation of AS PO licence.

RKM Posts: 93 Rating: (13)	Dear friends, I am presently facing a problem for selection of PO(Process Object) for AS. First of all please find attached picture for system over view . The problem is, in PCS 7 system I have 4 CPUs that are connecting to OS and ES. Approximately 50 POs are calculated per CPU. and I have purchased 4 numbers of 100 PO licences in the bundle of PCS7. So totally it would add 400 POs . But is this a right selection to go with 4 number of 100 POs? or a single 500 licence would require in this? Thnaks for all helps in advance. Oreca Platinum Expert Joined: 3/14/2008 Last visit: 12/12/2024 Posts: 2155 Rating: (967)	The licenses for PO are installed on the ES... You will have a total of 400 available. The PO will be "sent" to the CPU when downloading AS... Doesn't matter if you have more then one license..

Means How many Motors, PIDs or Valves Etc. you are going to use in your project, on the basis of that you calculate PO. so to calculate PO you must have P&ID for the process. Please go through the below link which will help you much better. How are the licenses for the AS and OS counted as from PCS 7 V7.0?

RKM You can buy only 3 x 100 POs and you will have a total of available 300 POs with 100 POs will be spare. But if you will buy a bundle including POs that will be cheaper than buying separate components, then your selection is right. As a matter of fact, I think the PCS7 bundle comes with an advantage, that it is already assembled and has a sticker of "PCS7 tested"

Doesn't matter if you have more then one license.. here is my 2cents, actually AS RT PO is not transferred to assign CPU. AS RT PO is counted down ( minus off ) from where ES have installed AS RT PO number. Always Book Back PO whenever you download different Project on AS and before change Memory card. I will choose when download dialog apper [+] to test cpu program (that will not counted AS RT PO) when doing engineering at office. But later on i will know, how many PO i will need to order additionally.

m@nju Bronze Member Joined: 7/13/2009 Last visit: 11/26/2024 Posts: 137 Rating: (5)	Dear RKM, PO License concept for PCS7 8.0 & previousversons are different. If you are plan is to load maximum 50 PO per AS, then you need to have minimum 200 ASRT PO in your ES.
