Can a PN Mobile Panel Connection Box be connected to Ethernet ?

dgfoxjones Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Can I directly connected a 6AV6671-5AE11-0AX0 CONNECT. BOX PN PLUS FOR MOBILE PANELdirectly to an ethernet network ? Basically we have TP177B PN HMI's already connected to our companies ethernet network which control part of our production lines. I have programmed another HMI as a test with parts of the line controls to enable us to set the m/c's in-situ.with connection set up to the 3Line CPU's. That works correctly but I need to integrate the lines safety circuits so have gone for a 6AV6645-0BB01-0AX0 Mobile Panel 177 PN to allow us to do this. Having looked at the spec for the connection box it shows to fast connectors for profinet but can one of the be used to connect to ethernet ? The other use to loop out to the next box in profinet cable and so on. I would need 6 connection boxes in total

dgfoxjones Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Having now read up on profinet to ethernet connections it sounds like I need a switch. Any suggetions on a switch ? CPU is a S7 300. A stand alone switch would be easier due to the positon of the connection boxes
