Can backup to new HDD of RAID1 in Rack PC 647B?

smitnh76 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi there! If I remove one HDD of RAID 1 and put in a new HDD (completely same with removed one).Can I backup (synchronizing) all data to new HDD.And if possible how same isnew HDD? just same capacity/type or need HDD of Siemens supply? THX!

grg Experienced Expert Joined: 3/2/2009 Last visit: 8/6/2024 Posts: 94 Rating: (8)	Hello smitnh76, replace the faulty drive with a new drive of the same type and capacity to return to the secure RAID1 status after a fault. We highly recommend to use Siemens spare parts. You can choose to reboot the device. In this case, the RAID software automatically integrates the new hard disk - necessary if you have non-removable drives. For hot-swap drive you can use the "Rescan for Plug and Play Devices" command to synchronize the RAID system. smitnh76 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thank grg! If one HDD damaged completely, in a basic way (not recommended) we can use Ghost for the rest HDD andduplicate 2 HDDs (normal type-not Siemens spares) and then re-install into Rack PC.The RAID1 working now?(if mainboard can detect 2 new HDDs)
