yes you can do this, but!

If you load a new created project the stored data on the devices are lost.

If i understand it right then you have a machine from a manufaturer with a already running program/project.

So you sholud not create a new one and donload!

Ask the manufacturer for the project of the machine and open this project in Scout.

you can make a backup of the CF Card.

If the content of the CF from another machine works in the machine you will modify ? i Don't know!

If a backup of the data with Scout is possible depends on the settings with which the manufacturer doenload the Data.

If the option "store additional data" was not set before the download then is not possible to backtransfer the data complete to a Simotion Scout project,

In this case you can only backtransfer the HW Configuration and the Sinamics data, but not the simotion data like programs, tasks, Sy,bols, Technology Objects.
