can i downgrade firmware from v4.2 to v4.1?

So I just bought a new S7-1200 for a project and cannot do anything with it. I have TIA V13 which is incompatible with the firmware 4.2.

Can I downgrade so I can use this PLC? If not, what can I do?

only the FS < 05, this information you see on the typeplate of the PLC.

But is no problem to work with TIA and S7-1200 V4.2.

Configure a V4.1 and load it to the V4.2 PLC, this should work without problems.

you can configure a V4.1 PLC in V13 and load it on a V4.2 PLC, this should be work.

But from some topics here not all functionality of the PLC is working.

Sometimes the HSC can't be used correctly if i remember correctly.

Hello.

I have had no problem up to now - even when using HSC.

Some notes were listed on firmware 4.2.1 that states that an HSC issue was resolved for Step7 V13 SP1. To be on the safe side it might be good to update the PLC to the newest firmware (FW4.2.1).

we are using tia portal v13 sp2 and the plc firmware version is v4.2

Hello,

There is no remedy for your situation, if you are using Step7 V13.The software will continuously give you a warning that there is a mismatch between actual and programmed hardware.

We use V13 with FW4.2. I have not had any problems; only the warning message.

We have S7-1200 PLCs with FW 4.1.3, and our PLC logic programs with HSC and Without HSC all are working properly, we are using TIA portal Ver.13. Now we recently recieved S7-1200 PLCs with FW 4.2.1, on these PLCs our logic programs with HSC are not working all PLCs are showing error

"Event ID 16# 02:4000, Pending startup inhibit, Unacceptable diffrence between expected and actual configuration, Manual startup required, " 

please guide us how to manage this problem with existing TIA portal Ver 13.
