Hello shr4plc [schnippschnapp]
You can, but not via the same Profibus port (e.g. you need two DP ports anda CP342-5 is a good way to get additional DP ports if your CPU has only oneonboard). I hope this helps |

Hello again shr4plc I must admit it never occured to me that the "×2DP" naming can actually be confusingand leadpeople to (falsely) assume that this port canfor example have two DP functionalities at the same time (e.g. being a DP Master and DP Slave at the same time). Unfortunately the "×2" simply means that this is the second onboard port/interface (the "×1" is the first one and is in your case an MPI port that can NOT be changed to act as a DP port). Just to be clear: The "×2DP" port can be configured to be either a DP Master OR a DP Slave, but NOT both together (well, if you configure it as a DP Slave and also tick "Test, commissioning, routing", it will also assume a Class 2 DP Master role to allow routing and speed up online access, but this is NOT whatyou are after, so please do not get confused by this rather superfluous technical detail). I hope this helps |
