Can I reset address to 126 using S7 5.4 / PDM V6 SP5?

efrancy Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	If I attempt to set the device address to 126 I get an error stating "Error in node naming. node naming is only possible with the reset function." Is this a 'reset function' available in S7 or PDM somewhere? I am able to set other addresses with no problem. I would like to restore the address to 126 after testing, and not have to access internal hardware to 'reset' the address.

This is for an instrumet we have developed (CiDRA SONARtrac) and are using a Softing FBK interface board, so the details of the Profibus interface are not completely accessible to me. I know Softing does impliment a fairly comple Profibus interface, so I would assume if there is some standard way of resetting the address to 126 in the protocol, they would support it. Would this possibly be something that is implimented differently for each manufacturer, or should this be a common ability, or is this blocked on purpose? -ed francy

SUZUKI_BR Regular Member Joined: 12/13/2010 Last visit: 7/29/2022 Posts: 33 Rating: (1)	The address is only possible126 with factory reset, this is a standard forProfibus. It is used as a standard factoryto notconflict with the other 125 possible. So you can not address 126.
