Can I use "Screen window" as dynamic icon on the screen?

For example, I created one screen with a "Valve". Then I place 20 screen windows on one main screen, and associate them with the valve screen. In this case, if I want to make changes, then I will only have to change a screen with a valve, and not all 20 objects on the main screen. The question is: 1. Is this the right approach or should I use the faceplate tool? 2. How will this affect performance, because each "Screen window" will have its own update cycle?

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 4/17/2025 Posts: 15311 Rating: (1893)	Hello kimich89 you can do it ether with screen windows: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109339757 or with Faceplates: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/68014632 I Think in WinCC Professional it wont be a problem to use a lot of these instances but It always depends on whtat you use in the different Screens. If its a small object with less functionality I would use a Faceplate. If its a bigger Object with more details and you have to use C Script or you have to get access to global information and so on then you have to use Screen Windows. Bye Murof
