Can I use the new project (TIA V11 SP1 Update2) with the old firmware 1.0?

vib Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I have an installation with a CPU 1214C firmware 1.0 and a panel KTP400 I have updated the project from TIA V10.5 SP2 to V11.0 SP1 Update2: all the text in the panel have been changed with a string "text", you can try by you self. Questions: 1) Is it a known bug? Is there any solution less stupid than to edit all the texts? 2) Can I use the new project with the old firmware 1.0? I don't want to buy a too much expensive 24 MB SD card if I don't need it! Thanks in advance. Splitted from V10.5 to V11.0 TIA Portal. Attachment Test1_V10.5_SP2.zip (511 Downloads)

Any new features provided by V11 or changes in implementation between V11 and 10.5SP2 may cause unexpected results. However, knowing there might be problems may be useful. The PLC should crash and give diagnostic buffer explanation of the crash if program attempts to use functions not available in V1.0 firmware. I will say the firmware updates are free, and that the 2.1.x firmware works very well. Contact your local Siemens rep to borrow a memory card for a couple hours. Well worth it.

vib Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	1) Yes, you are right, it was only the project languages, but in any case it's a little bug in the import procedure. 2) Firmware updates are NOT free, there is a Siemens tax called 24 MB SD card... In any case I think I should buy it also for futures updates. Thanks to all.
