Can S5-135U series (928) CPU be used with EPROM or RAM submodules of 375 series?

Dear Experts,

I have a question which is not covered in the official SIEMENS documentation.

Can S5-135U series (928-3UA12) CPU be used with EPROM or RAM submodules of 375 series (375-1LA41 EPROM or 375-0LD21 RAM)? The capacity (32 KB or 16 KB) doesn't matter.

I mean, I can physically insert these 375 series PCBs into the 928 CPU submodule slot (if I remove the orange bracket/holder part). Yes. the 375 submodule series PCB is longer, so it would stick out of the slot. That's not important.

What important is: whether the electrical part compatible between 375 series and 376 series EPROM and 377 series RAM submodules?

Please let me know your expert opinion. Even if it is not officially recommended by SIEMENS.

Usually only certain modules are released certain CPU / CP families to be used, hence the recommendation from Siemens.

Also the CPU is checking the Module ID when accessing the E-prom / Ram Module and will fault when a incorrect module is used.

The one you have is a long from for the 95U families of CPU. I never tried to use this one on a 928.

 On the other hand, you could try the "Darwin approach" , try it out and let us know the findings..

I will try to experiment with this combination. But I would like to be sure that neither the 928 CPU nor the EPROM/RAM module of the 375 series would be damaged or otherwise rendered unusable during such test?

Can you confirm that point, please?

unless someone here has physically tested this combination I fear you won't get a definitive answer.

I had a chance to test this combination and I found that
it DOESN'T WORK (physically impossible to fit)!
Consider this issue closed..
