Can STEP7 TIA v11 SP2 operates in a VMWARE environment?

I eard from many people that they have already installed there. Many of them told me that there was no problem, others, told me that some little problems are noted (e.g. to communicate). However, at official point of view, the product has no garanty or support in this type of installation.

Eric K Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	oefig: It works just fine for me, ensure you have enough memory assigned to the GuestOS. My Host: Windows 7, HP ProBook6460b, 4gb RAM runing VirtualBox by Oracle 4.2.8 My Guest: Windows XP, 2gb RAM, displayed on 2nd monitor in Full Screen Mode. Note: VirtualBox is 100% free, where VMWare is not. VMWare has a couple more features, but VirtualBox is very stable and fully functional.

Juan.Mechatronic Posts: 98 Rating: (6)	As Pegaia Said, is not officially supported But it Works Great, if you configure the ports (Ethernet, COM's .. ) properly, and course "ensure you have enough memory assigned to the GuestOS." The other thing is why you want to use a VM? If you works with Win XP or Win7 there's no problem to use TIA portal. I use VM Ware 8 AsEric KVirtual Box works quite well too Best Regards
