Can't download HW config to CPU Slave

I have been do follow Entry ID:6518822 (DP link between CPU 315-2DP (slave) and S7-400 (master) with STEP 7 V5.3), but when completed HW config for slave station ( CPU315-2DP), I can't dowload HW to CPU315-2DP. a Massage appear " Online:The connect to target module connot be established". What happen? I use MPI/DP of CPU417 for connect. How can i do out of this problem ? When i want addition a sation (CPU 313C-2DP),Can i do it like CPU315-2DP?

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 12/23/2024 Posts: 2705 Rating: (320)	Hi, How have you setup the connection to the CPU315 slave, it is now Profinus DP and it was MPI.... A CPU 313C DP can also be used as an Profibus DP Slave on the same network.

The CPU has one DP Interface and one MPI Interface... are you sure that you choose the MPI Interface on the CPU 315? If you look for the Node do you see anything in the Livelist? The CPU 313-2DP will work like the 315-2 DP as DP-Slave. Best regards J_Bell

This is first time i download HW config to the CPU315-2DP from my project,however before i downloaded, the CPU315-2DP is a station alone, and now it is running alone. IuseX2(DP) port on 315-2DP, because followEntry ID:6518822use x2 (DP) port on the CPU315 slave. How can i look for the Node? Attachment HW ConfigS7400,S7300.zip (377 Downloads)

Sydney Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2008 Last visit: 1/4/2025 Posts: 703 Rating: (96)	Hello, from the pictures I can see that the S7-300 you want to download is on the second DP master system, so try to connect the PGto X1 interface of S7-400 and view the accessible nodes, you can display itfrom Simatic manager, menu PLC->Display Accessible Nodes or the third button in the toolbar with three networked boxes and blue "i" in white circle.You should alsoswitch on the check box "Test, commissioning, routing" in the S7-300 DP slave configuration to allow downloading and diagnose PLC program. Then I hope you can access the S7-300 even from the X2 interface because of routing of S7-400 station but I'm not sure about this.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Chip, I am sorry... you lost me. If I understood you right you download the HW Config the first time to the CPU, am I right? If I understood you again you hardly try to download to the DP Interface because you thinkt the FAQ you mentioned to me told you to do so, am I still right? If so could you tell me, because the CPU does not know how its Address it has on PROFIBUS side, how should the CPU know who it has to answser... even so it is connected to PROFIBUS already. The CPU 315-2 DP has two Interfaces... one is always MPI and one is DP Master or DP Slave. The MPI Interface of the CPU 315-2 is always accessible. The CPU S7-417-4you is a different story... but than you do not load to the S7-300do you? This is why I am lost. In case of the S7-400 you have two DP Master systems. So you have two DP Master in your CPU and no MPI interface anymore. In this case you have to set the PG/PC Interface to PROFIBUS with the Busparameterset you have on PROFIBUS in the S7-400. This will work... if you have a Ethernet Interface on your PC you can also program the S7-400 with Ethernet... also a download of the HW Config is possibel that way. Best regards J_Bell
