Can the S7-1200 have a IP address assigned via DHCP server?

KevinN Posts: 41 Rating: (3)	Hi all, I posted this quite a while back in the Communication and Networks section but did not receive any response. I was hoping one of the S7-1200 gurus here would be able to assist on this matter. Our IT department assigns IP addresses to all our hardware using a DHCP server. This IP address is usually fixed for the MAC address but they can change the IP address on their side if the wish. Is there any way to let the S7-1200 get its IP address automatically instead of specifying one? Worst case scenario if it is not possible to use the DHCP server, I will just have to get all the IPs for each PLC based on its MAC address and manually enter them. Thanks for any advice or help in advance!

bakerjw Posts: 126 Rating: (18)	DHCP is not supported on the S7-1200 PLC. Currently it can be hardcoded, configured by T_CONFIG or downloaded by the Profinet DCP protocol. Sorry. John
