Cannot drag & drop tags into List with DataWorkbook Wizard

kee Advanced Member Joined: 5/24/2006 Last visit: 11/14/2007 Posts: 93 Rating: (4)	Hi Guys, Regarding DataMonitor, when i'm trying to create a report using DataWorkbook Wizard, i am unable todrag and drop the desired tags from the Tag Tree, into theTag/archive List.So even i am ableto connecttoWinCC, but nothing appear in the excel sheet.What have i done wrong or missed out? I tried to follow theManual comes with Dat@Monitorv6.1, butit tells nothing about the problem.couldanyone please help? My main intention is to extract the process value archive, alarm logging into excel format with the selected time period i would like to capture. Kee

You should be dragging tags or archive tags onto the worksheet and not anywhere else. Can you please explain in more detail what you are trying to do. Also a screenshot would be helpful. Finally what versions are you using. FYI: DataMonitor can only query tags that have been configured in the Tag Logging Editor. Salma

In the Workbook, my project is connected and nothing appears. Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Thanks for the screenshots. So the DataWorkbook wizard is correctly browsing the tag and archive tag database. It is only when you try to drag a tag onto the workbook that you see the problem. Do you get an error when you drag the tag onto the workbook ? Remember you need to drag* the tag onto the workbook and not just select it with the OK button.*

So in your can't drag tags.jpg file you show an Excel workbook, the DataWorkBook wizard and then the tag browser. You should be selecting a tag from the browser and dragging it onto Excel and not onto the DataWorkbook wizard window. Can you confirm that this is what you are doing ?

The time format is configured from Excel and not the DataWorkbook wizard. Excel recognises date/time entries and automatically formats them. You should highlight the date/time cells and select Format menu -> Cells. Select Custom in the list and enter your required format, e.g. yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.000 Salma

I am getting 2006-10-30 12:44:59.000. The last three digits are always ZERO. is the format of ".000" wrong? I'm using XPPro+sp2 and my project will be working on 2003server+sp1. k

Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Yes, Ijust did a Google search for confirmation that the format for milliseconds in Excel is mm.ss.000 If you are not seeing anything then it's possible that DataWorkbook isn't returning the milliseconds. I have to say honestly that I have never needed to return milliseconds. Has anyone else tried this ??
