Cannot Load Application (Program Structure...)

Kib0sh Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hey all, I have a problem using the step 5 software on my PC. I cannot open the "Cross-Reference" or "Program Structure"under "Documentation". Neither can I perform a compare. When I open for example "Program Structure" I can select the options like which program file, output to screen etc.. but when I press "output" then I get the error message: Cannot load application I found already this link: Cannot Load Application Error Message (Entry ID: 11376026 ) In that link their is described what to do but after trying these things it's still is not working. Everything fits like in that link. The OS, version of Step 5 and the parts that don't work. So if any off you had the same problem or know something else I can try, pls let me know. I also tried checking my account settings but those seem ok also. Below the details of my PC. Microsoft Windows XP pro version 2002 Service Pack 3 CPU Core2Duo T7800 @2.60GHz 3.00GB RAM Simatic S5 Step 5 / ST Version 7.17 (Date 12.02.01)

Vitas Posts: 74 Rating: (2)	Hello Kib0sh, reason of your problem could be in configuration of your PC. Step5 is DOS application and together withsome HW can have problem to work. Tryconfigure your PC to dual boot, with aspect that for Step5 boot your PC like Singlecore CPU, DualCore left for other Windows applications. The last Siemens Field PGs are supplied and configuredwith dualboot specially like singlecore for S5. try it, you`ll see. Good Luck Vitas

Kib0sh Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Thx for the fast reply, But my colleagues have the exact same laptop as me, also dual cores, and with them, it all works fine. I also tried within the property's of the shortcut to run it in compatibility mode (windows 95 & 98) but this didn't help either. Creating a dual boot is no option, it's a corporate laptop. Also everything else works in Step 5, I can edit the program, download, upload, see symbols in the editor, test online, . So I don't think it's a dualcore problem. Even from within the Step 5 Block editor the cross reference works, I can jump to other blocks without problem. The only things that does not work is extactly the same as in the link of the first post: - File - Blocks - Compare - Documentation- Program Structure - Documentation- Cross Reference - Documentation- Assignment List - Documentation- I/Q/F list - Documentation - Three-in-one All other things inside Step 5 work just fine! PS: i have admin rights on the laptop. UPDATE: I got yesterday to the office and re-installed Step 5 which solved above problem for me.
