Cannot program a new DRIVE-CLiQ encoder using SINAMICS STARTER

Hi SINAMICS experts :)

I have a problem using STARTER V4.4.0.3 to program a SINAMICS non-programmed DRIVE-CLiQ encoder fitted to a 1FT7105-5AB71-1BH1 SINAMICS motor.

I have a good 1FT7105-5AB71-1BH1 motor with good electronic rating plate data and another 1FT7105-5AB71-1BH1 motor with a new non-programmed encoder to be programmed with the data from the good one.

The new encoder is brand new from SIEMENS authorised supplier. Type: 6FX2001-5JD24-2DC0.

In the SIEMENS Encoder replacement in 1FK7 G2 and 1FT7 manual here, on page 41 it says How to save the electronic rating plate for a motor. It states:

1. Switch on the machine.
2. Identify the component number of the encoder module to be saved in the topology tree.
3. Enter the component number in the p4690 parameter of the encoder module for which
the data on the electronic rating plate must be saved on the system card.
4. To begun saving, set the p4691 parameter to "1".
→ If the operation is successful, the value of the p4691 parameter changes back to "0".
→ If the p4691 parameter changes to a value other than "0", this number will help you identify
why the write operation failed.

My problem is thatI cannot find Parameters p4690 and p4691 anywhere in STARTER, not even in the help menu. I have Expert access enabled and p4690 and p4691 are not listed there.

I have also downloaded the Electronic Rating Plate dqixe1.bin file from the DRIVE-CLiQ Data Download Services site using the serial number from the non-programmed motor. I attempted to program the encoder using this file but ran up against the same problem of not being able to access p4690 and p4691. From page 40..

To transfer the data to the encoder module
1. Enter the sensor module component number in the p4690 parameter for which the data
on the electronic rating plate must be written.
2. To begin writing, set the p4691 parameter to "2".
→ The data stored at the transfer point is written in the module (refer to section "How to
save the data on the electronic rating plate. (Page 41)"

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Although you didn't advertise some details such as exact Drive type and so forth, I'll try to shed some light, so to speak, on the dark side of the moon...

• Probably you didn't notice one more expert list which is situated : Youre Starter project ->Simatic S300-Station ->S120_CU320_2DP_CU1 -> Control_Unit -> Expert_list. Here you'll able to find p4690 and p4691.

P.S. For the reliability of our moon program please find screen shot attached.

So that's where the parameters were!

I have now programmed the new encoder and all is well. :)
