I am experienceing the same issue with a TIA v16 OPC client running on a 1517TF  communicating with another 1517TF which is hosting the server. After the server restarts the client (as well as another client from the MES side) can not reconnect without restarting the client-PLC. 

Has this issue been resolved? Any answers about Variables that need to be reset? Disconnecting does not work. Resetting the connection handle seems to do nothing. I would appreciate any pointers towards a solution.
