cant able to get data exchange between cpu's

shivendra jaiswal Advanced Member Joined: 9/2/2012 Last visit: 2/27/2023 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Pittiplatsch ptakkar@tenaris Hello there I am trying to setup i-device configuration for 3ooseries cpu in TIA portal.i am not able to understand the concept of Transfer Area.here is what i basically want to do: one cpu is sending 4 bytes to another cpu and vice versa. which CPU will work as controller and which one will be i-device. how the transfer area in both CPU will be correlated. that will be more useful if i can have a configuration with two CPU communicating over i-device configuration. Regards Hello, in TIA, you insert two plcs. In one PLC, go to the properties of the PN-interface and then to "operating mode". Here, choose" io-device" and as "assigned IO-controller" the 2nd one. If you have 2 different TIA projects, you also go to the properties of the PN-interface and then to "operating mode". Here, choose io-device and create a GSD. This GSD must be insert in the other TIA project... After activating "io-device", you can insertnew transfer areas. Click "new" and choose the direktion "-> means "from the IO-Controller to the IO-Device"; input ") and the size (4 bytes). Click "new" and choose the direktion "<- means "from the IO-Deviceto the IO-Controller"; output ") and the size (4 bytes). Thats it. Look at the link, i posted before. There is a good instruction.... Dear sir, we tried above steps and our communication is done, but we cant able to get data exchange between cpu's(1st im 151-8pn dp and 2nd 314 pn/dp) do you have any suggestion ?

shivendra jaiswal Advanced Member Joined: 9/2/2012 Last visit: 2/27/2023 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	DearPittiplatsch, i am using IM 151-8 pn/dp cpu with firmware v 3.2 and when i config i device in one of the cpu and create its gsd file which is used in master system as per attached file. there is no fault on the both cpu but with using load transfer function 1 m not be able to transfer the data. i m using dprd_dat(sfc14 and 15) for data transfer but it dont help us. one more problem if i m not using ob122 then one of the cpu gose into stop mode. Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	Hello, that right. You do not need any blocks, because you configure a transfer area between Controller and Device you have access (process image). If you do not or cannot place the data in a process image, then you should use the system functions SFC14 and SFC15 for data communications.
