Cant find S7-1200 in network

ThInk Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi all, My computer cannot find the PLC (S7-1200) even i check the 'accessible device' box. This happenwhen I do not know the PLC IP address. If i put the correct IP address, then my pc can find the PLC. BUT, before I format my pc, I do not need to know the PLC IP address andI can find the PLC.Which means I can click on 'accessible device' then the software find the PLC itself. I heard from my friend, the problem is the service pack version of the Window XP cause this problem. Is it possible? Thank you.

ThInk Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi Pegaia, Good day! But before I format my computer, it was XP service pack 2. It manage to find the s7-1200 in the network. Anyway, the solution for it is to upgrade to XP SP3? Thank you!

I suggest you first to uninstall Step7 Basic then update Windows XP to SP3 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?FamilyID=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displaylang=en).
