I have posted this on another thread, but I think this deserve separate thread, since we have the same problem with every newly acquired TP1500 comfort panel:

Same happened here. We have new TP1500 (6AV2124-0QC02-0AX1), ok, according to prosave and having look in control panel of the TP1500 it has image version 16.00.00.03. TIA Portal is V16 Update 2. From catalogue we can only select TP1500 (6AV2124-0QC02-0AX1) version 16.0.0.0 or lower (i.e. 15.1.0.0, 15.0.0.0, 14.0.1.0. So, we use version 16.0.0.0, but when download it asks to Fit -> downgrade image in target TP1500, probably because it has image version 16.00.00.03, ok, we say fit, but it cannot do that 'cause there is no image on the disk (ok, it is known that since TIA Porta V16 you have to install images separately).

Then we have downloaded the image 16.00.00.00 from

i.e. for TIA Portal V16, no updates. We copied that to the required path (...\Transfer\16.0\Images\CP_15_19_22_V2) and then using prosave we installed that image on the target TP1500 (didn't try from TIA Portal out of desperation). Now, download of project from TIA Portal V16 Update 5 (earlier we installed Update 5 but the same problem occured) works without asking to do Fit -> downgrade.

Now, I suppose all this is due to lack of appropriate version in catalogue, why there is only 16.0.0.0? This way, we had to downgrade the target TP1500.

Just to mention, we tried with v5 image also (16.00.00.05) but the same thing.

Am I wrong with my theory about the catalogue? How can we work with new TP1500 with images above 16.0.0.0 when one cannot chose those versions in catalogue? how can we repair the catalogue?

If you download/buy the current software from WinCC TIA Portal, DVD 3/4 contains the corresponding image files for this version.
If you need an older version / update the software, you can find the image files under this download => https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/109746530

Yes, we have downloaded the latest images and copied them as described i.e. panel images for update 5, but TIA Portal again asked to Fit -> Downgrade as in physical panel was version 16.0.0.3. Maybe we missed something. So then we downloaded image version for update 0 from siemens web site, so to say, then did downgrade using prosave, and then download of application worked well.

I also noticed that TIA Portal Update application doesn't give updates for images altough I have installed DVD3 on my laptop, with images, so this way I had to install TIA Portal V17 Update 5 and then download images for update 5 and copy -> paste to appropriate location.
