hi all

i have an issue

I have removed the CF card from my simotions and have reinstalled it and now it is not working,

Here is what i done,

- Powered down machine

- removed CF card

- Took CF card to office to copy all files ( as backup)

-took CF card back to machine

- Installed CF card

-Powered up machine

All Leds on simotions are orange

Mode switch is 0

am i missing something?

Thats literally all i did! I found it very unusual.

Is there a proceedure i am not doing?

I though it would be a pretty common thing.

Your procedure is ok. Seems like something happened when copying the files for backup.

You should contact Siemens support - maybe they can help you with that issue

When I use a USB CF card reader to access files on a CF card, prior to removing the CF card, I always unmount(eject) the USB device, and then unplug the USB card reader, and then remove the CF card from the card reader.  Although it is uncommon, if you just remove the card from the reader with power on, it can damage the card.  It has happened to me once, and to our customers more than once.

can happen all the time. windows exe error or card reader problem.

If you have software back-up , use new cfc card. Or find fw version and copy to your card and put it on download your back-up.

One or more of the CF Card socket pins on the Simotion unit could have been smashed down when re-inserting the card (poorly). Honestly I don't even inform end-users of the existence of the card for this reason.
