CF Licences fur Simotion D425-2

Davinator Gold Member Joined: 1/4/2013 Last visit: 4/25/2025 Posts: 1175 Rating: (106)	Dear all, after a failure in a compact flash (the CF is not readable anymore and the simotion shows all orange leds and the CF cannot be read with a card reader) I have to rebuild a new compact flash. For the USER folder that's ok, I know the procedure. My problem regards the licences (the KEYS folder). Normally I make a backup copy of the licences (I copy on my PC the KEYS folder before programming the machine) but in this case I surely have that licence key but I don't know which one is. I have many licences here, I open them but the code inside the licence file doesn't help me in understanding if it is the right licence for that hardware. Does anyone has a minimal idea on how is possible to recognize the correct licence ? Regards, Davinator PS: Licences are for GearAxis and TControl if this helps

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 22624 Rating: (3061)	Hello, you can check the type of licence with the CoL zertificate which is delievered with the Licence. use this web address: http://www.siemens.com/automation/licenseor https://workplace.automation.siemens.com/pls/swl-pub/SWL_MAIN_MENU.PRINT_LICENCE_KEY?a_lang_id=E&a_action=&a_searchtype=1&a_search= But i think the licences are coupled to the SerialNumber of the CF-Card so you can't make only a copy of the CF-Card and work with the new CF-Card. "The license key generated from the runtime licenses and the serial number of the memory card" Regards Christoph

In this case even if I use a commercial CF or another Siemens CF the original licences will not match. And the generated licence code is not easy to adapt or understand... Normaly it is no problem to chance the licence from one Card to another by SIEMENS if you have SIEMENS CF Cards. If you have a commercial , non SIEMENS SIMOTION, Card then following restriction: 1.) no support from SIEMENS 2.) no warranty for functionality with SIEMENS Equipment 3.) no Bootloader on Card to work with SIMOTION D 4.) no Licence are available for this Card Regards Christoph
