CFC create your own blocks

Raffy Posts: 209 Rating: (2)	Dear Experts, I'm new to CFC and I would like to know how to create your own block that you can use repeatedly just like in ladder FB and FC blocks. I observed that when you create your own function chart to use it many times there is a problem. When I want to edit the function chart and save it, it does not apply to all function chart. It only applies to where you have save it. For example in Ladder, we can create FC and use it repeatedly.. then if you have some modification on that FC you can edit it and it will also update those FCs you use on different parts of the program (not true if you edit the Inputs, outputs and other declared variables). So my question would be how to create a multifunction chart or block in cfc?? please help me... Thanks best regards, raffy

Thanks best regards, raffy Hello, Using CFC for making a reusable function is making sense the most in case of using functions from a safety library.In other cases, it is much easier to use the alternative programming languages.For a discussion on your issue, please refer to THIS manual on: Section 5.7.3 on how to create Section 5.7.4 on how to change and update I hope this helps Hamid Hosseini

You will have to create a chart with all the relevant blocks and their interconnections. Next For the Variable part, The IO that need to assigned to the blocks. You will have click on the chart IO icon on the top below the debug button. After all the settings then say chart -> Compile -> Chart as block type then give the relvant name and other items. I have a question if I have created a library then created a multifunction CFC that can be use in my program. Should I import the CFC i created to my program or just drag and drop it in my program?? Thanks Hello, I support the idea of using the block type as an FB,Develop it in an S7 Program (or a project) different from working one.Provide proper name and version and protect the source.Use it in the main project byimporting it from S7 Program and update all changes from Options-->Block types and select the New Version. There are some technological blocks also there in the protected block. But there is no block icon generated in the picture for the technological blocks. Please suggest what could be the reason for that or some specific setting needs to be done for the icons for the protected blocks. Best regards, Naresh Saini
