Dennisvg Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Is it possible to change the analoge output type and rangefrom a SM 1232 AQ4. I want to do it from the HMI KPT600. Do you have for this action a specify function in the library. so i can change the analoge output for example from 4-20mA to 0-20mA directly from the panelwithout to connect the tia portal ?

Dennisvg Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the feedback. I want to build a simulator so i want to change the output current range from 0-20 mA to 4-20mA directly from the OP. Is this possible? these current range is possible with 6ES7 232-4HD32-0XB0 module. In step 7 simatic manager i think it was possible to change the HW config by software.

Where did you see 4-20mA in case of6ES7 232-4HD32-0XB0? There is 0-20mA only. And following my previous link you will see all possibilities for scaling the output signal to 0 or 4 mA deppends of the case.

And As mensioned an above suggestions you must know the compatiblities of your AO catd that 0-20 mA possible or not?!!!!

The change from [0-20mA] to [4-20mA] is a software manipulation -- this is possible by user selection. Thanks for the link, so i can use 4-20mA with a setting 0-20mA. If you really must have the option to change after the project is released and in use at customer location, you might consider some additional hardware to jumper a resistor across the analog terminals to convert the AO from 0-20mA to 0-5VDC or 0-10VDC. Just be sure to create HMI interface for calibration of the zero and span setpoints. If you want further explanation, first draw your AO terminals. Next add a N.O. relay contact in parallel to your signal and insert a resistor of the proper value for 0-10VDC @ 20mA. From the HMI, your change from mA to V output basically just inserts the resistor by turning on a digital output to control that relay. If you do them in banks of 4, you only need 1 4-pole relay to convert (4) mA signals to (4) VDC signals. I am not suggesting this is the best approach as the failure mode may cause crazy behavior if your relay contacts start to arc and wear over time. Maybe SSR contacts would save this from happening provided you know the failure mode of SSRs varies betweenmanufacturers to either stuck on or stuck off or somewhere in between where they insert some static resistance across the contacts.
