Change IP adress on communication PLC-HMI

I need to change all communication, frequency converter, plc and hmi. For example from 192.168.0.11-13 to 192.168.15.14-16. This block can only change the PLC IP and not the communication between PLC, HMI and freq. Any other suggestions? My problem is that I send control cabinets all over the world and if the customer want to change the IP adresses on site, they must be able to.

My problem is that I send control cabinets all over the world and if the customer want to change the IP adresses on site, they must be able to. The HMI is set directly on the HMI. The drive is typically set using something like starter or can be set via parameters on the drive interface panel. If they use Siemens drives, they may already know what is required. Does this help or is the problem that even after changing the ip address of the freq / hmi and using the t-config, your testing shows the plc / hmi / drive do not properly communicate and control?

It seems like it is the PLC that control the communication to who it will send the HMI info, so If I change the HMI IP there will be no communication.

It seems like it is the PLC that control the communication to who it will send the HMI info, so If I change the HMI IP there will be no communication. Try this: 1. Change PLC address using S7-1200 ip tool ( https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&objId=41737437&load=treecontent&lang=en&siteid=cseus&aktprim=0&objaction=csview&extranet=standard&viewreg=WW) 2. Change HMI address using HMI control panel 3. Change drive ip address using starter / iop or aiop. 4. Change drive ip in PLC using the t config block ganes10 mentioned. See what happens.

So if I change the IP of the PLC. The communications between PLC-HMI is lost, it says it can't reach the PLC (192.168.15.11). If I change the IP of the HMI, the communication is also lost. And from what I read in the manual the T_config only works for the PLC. What I make of this is that I have to change the communication settings in the PLC programming. And this is not possible from what I know. I made test today and changed the IP of the PLC with IP tool and the communication was lost, when I changed back the communication where OK again. I also changed the IP of the HMI in the control panel of the TP700 and the communication was lost, when I changed it back the communication worked again. Maybe I just have to ship SD cards with new program to the customers who want new IP adresses.

I do understand what you mean about the hmi programming since it is looking for a specific ip address as it's destination. My apologies as I had an AB contrologix flashback where you could adjust the the address it looked for the plc from within the HMI without much trouble. I agree it should be easier. Maybe you could throw in a trial version of the software DVD good enough for the 30 days required to deploy the updates. Not good if you do not want your customer having the source projects.

A very smart idea, wonder why Siemens haven't thought of this problem before? I surely can't be the only one wanting to change the communication from the HMI. I don't expect this to be a big problem for us since I know many control cabinets will never be connected to profinet but I want my cabinets to be as versatile as possible and ready for the future. That beeing said I dont want customers to use programming software to change communication. Not because I don't want to show my program but because I don't think it is so userfriendly :) I ship the cabinets with 192.168.15.11-13 and hope for the best :)

Support Request I am guessing the s7-1200 ip change tool was created because of a similar user request. :)

This info may be interesting for you.
