change mode of CP342-5 automatically

stijn Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello I was wondering if it is possible to put the CP342-5DP into Stop or offline mode so it won't send some data over an FDL-connection to an S5 PLC. Afterwards I'd want to restart the same CP342-5 again with a similar command. I tried FC4 "DP_CTRL" with command 4, but it doesn't seem to work (I might be doing something wrong. Reason for putting CP to stop is that some connection to the S5 PLC breaks down and doesn't reinit itself, but after manual reset of the CP it works fine. Can this be done automatically? I know there has to be another underlying problem for the drop down of the connection, but this should be solved later on. Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance and kind regards Stijn

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Stijn, I am sorry, but this will not work. The CP is not controlable over the PLC Program. For the Ethernet CP there is a controll function, but this does not work with PROFIBUS. Think about it, if the CP is in the PROFIBUS Token ring than I doubt that the CP is responsible that the Connection stops. I wonder, what do you see if you check the AG_SEND Function in that case?What is happening on the Remote side in this situation? Additionally I wonder myself what Firmware version do you use in the CP 342-5? Best regards J_Bell

stijn Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello Thanks for the fast reply. I already figured out that it is indeed not possible to stop the CP via the PLC. The remote partner in the communication is an S5 PLC. When the connection breaks down the AG_RECV block on S7 gives the status code 80B1hex (data area invalid). On S5, there doesn't seem to be an error. The S5 says data receive is OK. About firmware or hardware versions I'm not sure yet, therefor I'll have to go to the client to check this out, but it wil probably be 5.0 or 5.1 (firmware) and probably 3.0 as for hardware version (I read there might have been some problems with hardware release v2.0). Between the S7 and S5 PLC there are 14 FDL connections defined, and the strange part is that these connections work fine for quite a long time, and then after a while suddenly a connection breaks down. At this moment 4 connections are down (for already 2 days), the other 10 connections still work fine. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? Thanks and kind regards Stijn

Because with this Block some issues have been solved, on of it was the issue with the 80B1 Status... that occurred occasionally. Please load the latest SIMATIC NET Library at: SIMATIC_NET_CP Library in STEP7 / NCM S7 bis V5.4 SP3 and PROFINET Library for iMAP V2.0.1 There the function have been fixed. Best regards J_Bell

In my own S7 software, when I install the library you've sent, I only receive a message that block FB55 is updated. but off course we don't use that block. But the actual project is on another PC, so I would like someone to check the library version, is this possible? Thanks and kind regards Stijn

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, you can find that you really easy. Just check the following: 1. Select your FC 6 or FC 5 you use. 2. Right click on your Mouse or pad and select Properties. 3. Change the folder to common part 2. There you see the Family and the Version (Header) of the block. That is what you have to look for. Best regards J_Bell
