We are having one system of CPU315. In which we have used AO card and IM card(Details can be seen below). Now these part is being obsolete and their successors are coming. So, just want to confirm whether these card can replace the old cards directly(like plug and play). And there is no need to do any change in PLC program.

Please suggest, so that we can take the decision for the hardware selection.

The new module will replace the module below and is spare part compatible. This means that a module with order no. -1KF01- can simply be replaced by the new module with order no. -1KF02- without having to change the configuration or the wiring.

If you don’t require the new functions, you can continue to work with older STEP7 versions. The new modules are spare part compatible with the modules shipped up to now. This means that you can retain your configuration when you replace a module. The new modules will also work with the existing (old) configuration.

The new functions of the module are described on two Product Information bulletins that you will find under entry IDs26269772 and 26269778.

There is one more query. As there are 4 IM cards in use(Redundant System). If we replace one of them with their successor. Then Do we need to replace the rest 3 also with the successor or not.

As the manual says, the redundant devices have to be the same.
