Changing Languages in Unified Faceplates

AutoGen_163247 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello all! I am currently trying to add functionality to change the language of a unified HMI. I have a button that is working to change the texts for everything EXCEPT faceplates. I have a common faceplate that I use 5 times on one screen for example. I have changed the language settings in editing the faceplate and I can get the text to change that is common for all the faceplates, but the unique identifier (which shows as "Device" when editing the faceplate but has a text entry in properties with the name of the device) does not change and I don't see how to change them? Everything I have found online about the faceplates is just to enable the languages which seems to translate the wording for DeviceName but not the text that I have in that property. The Texts tab at the bottom only says that Multilingual texts are not available - Either you have not entered a text or the object doesn't support multilingual. Is it just not possible?

Please tell us the TIA Portal version you are using and the WinCC Unified device type and version. Please tell us what type of data you are using in the interface and where you want to use the text. Basically, the easiest way to use multilingual text in a faceplate is to use the multilingual text datatype in the interface properties. However, this has one major drawback: it cannot be used when opening a faceplate as a popup. Another way - which I like in case of a large number of texts - is to use a text list. This reduces the number of interface parameters, but requires JavaScript to change the text when the language changes. Kind regards Stefan
