Changing S7400 CPU

david_am Experienced Member Joined: 3/27/2009 Last visit: 4/16/2025 Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hello to all, I was given a project for a demo, and at the time I loaded it to PLC SIM and everything worked great. Now I want to migrate the program to a real CPU for better performance and use functions not available with PLC SIM. I am working on PCS7 V7.0 SP2 and the projected CPU was a CPU 416-2 DP (416-2XN05-0AB0) but unfortunately we do not possess such CPU. So I am trying to migrate it to a CPU 417-4 (417-4XL00-0AB0). ButI can not load OB88because according to the protocol, it isnotsupported by the connected Online CPU. And the CPU goes directly to stop. I read an entry regarding what should one look out when changing a CPU, but unfortunately we just have a couple CPUs from other projects. Can someone give me some pointers in what to look out for, or is just no possible to do?

I.e. there maybe a stack overflow. Try to find out, what is the reason for the OB88 call! (System diagnostic)

Hi david_am ,

when you compile CFC in OB88 is automatically gennerated during compilation.

Did you look the exact error message in plc diagnostic buffer? Are you using std block library or do your own library? Reagrds

Now I can download the program. Thanks!
