Changing the MOUSE pointer in WInCC

Shailesh Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, My customer doesnt want the normal WInCC mouse pointer he wants it to beof the shape of a HAND..for this i selected desire pointer in inCC-Computer_Runtime-Mousepointer... after this whenever i click on a button or go to a IO field then pointer becomed HAND shaped but i have some process objects like VALVES/MOTOTS on which i have configured some action...so whenever i go to these objects our normal WINCC POINTER appears.. why is the pointer not changed for these objects... is there anything else that i have to do????

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, If you open your wincc project, go into the wincc explorer. open the properties of the computername. Select ( i think the last) tab. Here you can select the wanted mouse pointer. After the selection you have toclose andopen wincc, before changes take effect. Note: Mouse pointers are computer specific, not wincc project specific. Shailesh Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	hi actually i changed the mouse pointer in Wincc-Runtime tab and the restarted the WIncc. even now i am getting HAND symbol for all the buttons and IO fields but i have some HMI library objects like valves/motors on which i have written some action. so whenever mouse pointer goes over these objects it is shown as a normal WIncc pointer and not like a HAND as i have configured. is there something else that we have to do for these library objects....

The HMI Symbol Library are ActiveX controls and have not been programmed to change the mouse cursor. So if you want a different cursor you will need to program this yourself [:(] I think this can be done using the MouseMove Event script.Write a VBS/C script that changes the mouse pointer and link it to the MouseMove Event script. This script will run whenever the mouse hovers over the object. This is not ideal but all I can think of as a workaround. Does anyone else have any other ideas ?? Wincc entered their own mouse pointer in the registry also, so why should we not be able to change it back? or into something else? Best bet would be to search through the registry to find that wincc cursor, and check what needs to be changed in order to function like you want to have it. note; Please be carefull changing things in the registry. create a backup first!. with regards, ikkezelf

I searched a lot for the .cur and .ani files to find out the Default Wincc pointer Icon file but couldnot find it. whenever we put balnk in the Mouse pointer field in Wincc-computer-runtime it automatically takes the default icon ....so i dnt know whether its possible to change it... Anyways thank you very much
