Check User Authorization in Runtime

lgfalco Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hello, Before anything, I'm working with WinCC v13 Professional (TIA Portal) and I'm having some difficulties related to user authorizations. Sorry if this is too basic, but I'm a begginer in WinCC. >> I've created the users and groups, assined the authorizations, etc. Basically, after an action (i.e. button click), I would like to check the authorization and if the logged user doesn't have the rights, the logon window would show, so another user could be logged in. - How can I show the logon window when an unauthorized user excute an action that he doesn't have rights? (Tried to check the user authorization with VBS but without success) >> Another simple thing, maybe I'm missing something. I want to work with visiblity animation in a few objects according to the logged user. As I've read in other posts, the common way to this is to change a tag using the schedule taks using the "User Change" trigger. I don't know why, but there's no such trigger in the list, there's only Tag Trigger, Runtime Stop and others cyclic triggers. - Do I need to configure anything? - I there another way to this? Any help/suggestion would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! lgfalco

Select Properties->Security Here you can select the level of user that have authorization, the system will ask you for the password when you try to interact with that object. About the second question, under "Schedule task" if i create a new task, under the column "trigger" i do have the "User Change" tag to select! About the first question, I've already tried this, but when I click the button it only shows a pop-up saying "No operator authorization" with a Ok button (Check attachement for a ps) About the second one, I checked it several times, but I don't have it, don't know why. This message is showing only during the simulation/testing. I've installed the Update3, forget to check for a new one! I'll install it and let you know if it solved the issue. Thanks for the link!

Igfalco is using a runtime professional system whereas dan.v is talking about a panel. With Runtime Professional you don't have this trigger in scheduled tasks, but you have a system tag "@CurrentUser". you can use the trigger "Tag trigger" in scheduled tasks and add this tag. You can solve the other issuewith c-scripting: https://www.automation.siemens.com/mdm/default.aspx?DocVersionId=63974837515&TopicId=36122608651 But I think you will get both dialoguesif you do it this way. K!ke Thanks for your reply, K!ke! Possibly we were talking about different systems as dan.v got different options in the trigger list. I think using the @CurrentUser tag will do the trick! lgfalco Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hello, Well, about the C function you've mentioned, it has the following syntax: BOOL IsUserAuthorized (DWORD AuthorizationNumber); How can I get the AuthorizationNumber parameter? Or should I pass it to the function manually?
