Hi Experts, Based on the attachment, were going to put a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) between the SITOP Power supply and IO modules (DI,DO,AI and AO). Is it safe or enough to use a 2 Amperes miniature circuit breaker per module to protect the control voltage supply (SITOP Power Supply) from total failure in case of an external short circuit? I believe that these IO modules have different current rating.Does it has any relation on the MCB to be installed? Or do we need to use a MCB with higher ampere rating? Here are the order numbers of the IO modules installed: 1.32DI(6ES7321-1BL00-0AA0) Properties of SM 321; DI 32 x DC 24 V: ● 32 inputs, isolated in groups of 16 ● Rated input voltage 24 VDC ● Suitable for switches and 2-/3-/4-wire proximity switches (BEROs) 2. 32DO(6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0) Properties of SM 322; DO 32 x DC 24 V/0.5 A: ● 32 outputs, electrically isolated in groups of 8 ● Output current 0.5 A ● Rated load voltage 24 VDC ● Suitable for solenoid valves, DC contactors and signal lamps 3. 8AI(6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0) Properties ● 8 inputs in 4 channel groups ● Programmable measurement type at each channel group – Voltage – Current – Resistance – Temperature ● Programmable resolution at each channel group (9/12/14 bits + sign) ● Any measuring range selection per channel group ● Programmable diagnostics and diagnostic interrupt ● Programmable limit value monitoring for 2 channels ● Programmable hardware interrupt when limit is exceeded ● Electrically isolated to CPU and load voltage (not for 2-wire transducers) 4. 8AO(6ES7332-5HF00-0AB0) Properties ● 8 outputs in one group ● The output can be selected by individual channel – Voltage output – Current output ● Resolution 12 bits ● Programmable diagnostics and diagnostic interrupt ● Programmable diagnostic interrupt ● Electrically isolated from the backplane bus interface and load voltage ● Supports parameter reassignment in RUN Hope you can help me with this... Thanks and best regards, lordgalen

Dear member Check the following link for one sample module: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=6ES73317KF020AB0&caller=view Technical / CAx data
Check the current consumption from the external power supply and select the Power Supply. Regards |
