CM 1243-5 upgrade from FW 1.2 to FW 1.3

silverwoods Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	good day! i have a working project which uses S7-1200 PLC (6ES7214-1BG40-0XB0)and communication module CM 1243-5 (6GK7243-5DX30-0XE0) F.W. 1.3... due to some reasons, the CM 1243-5 became deffective so i had to order another unit... the unit that was delivered has a firmware version of F.W. 1.2... i tried it but the plc doesn't seem to recognize it... i borrowed another CM 1243-5 f.w. 1.3 from my other project and it worked just fine, which means that my plc is ok... after reading forums, i found-out that there's a way to upgrade the f.w. of CM 1243-5 through its plc using an image saved in a MMC but i cant seem to find the right part number of the MMC do anyone know which mmc i need? your help will be much appreciated!

miami Platinum Member Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 1/20/2025 Posts: 2198 Rating: (330)	The download page of "Firmware V1.3.3 for CM 1243-5" says the first step is "Insert an empty SIMATIC MC 24-MB Memory Card into a SD card reader connected to your computer." The 24 MB SIMATIC Memory Card has the article no. 6ES7954-8FL02-0AA0. I think the 12MB SIMATIC Memory Card (6SE7954-8LE02-0AA0) will do it too, but I did not test it.
