COM Profibus 3.3 in english

Hi,

I need a software COM Profibus v3.3 in english. 

I have it in germany version , but, unfortunately, I don't know this language.

If anyone have it , please, help me.

Do you really need the old version V3.3 or the newest V5.1 ?

I have the project made with COM Profibus 3.3 .  I work with S5-95U PLC and Profibus DP.

I tried to open the project with COM Profibus v5.1 , but with errors.

When I opened with v3.3 ,  no errors.

But, my COM Profibus v3.3 is in german language. I don't know.

So, COM Profibus v3.3 english version is good for me.

Just by curiosity, what kind of messages do you get when you try to openyour application in COM Profibus 5.1?

We had issues when this version came out, we discovered it does not support Unicode. So any text we had in the application that contained accents (our main language was French, so é, à î, ç are part of daily use) was rejected by COM Profibus 5.1 with a "unable to open file" message, or something approaching. We had to remove all accents (using version 3.3) in the internal texts for it to open in 5.1

In any case`have a look at this download for a demo version of COM Profibus 3.3, that works in English (German and Italian also). With your existing license you should be able to make it work.

Both messages concur, and both omit to designate the specific slave that is giving you problems. Do you have any idea which one?

The German message translates to:

"Slave cannot be assigned to the selected master. The configuration, parameterization or diagnostics of the slave is too extensive for the master."

It seems that version 5.1 is incapable of loading one of the slaves in your configuration, probably due to changes in the database structure of the different versions of the software.

I suggest you start a Support Request (see the link at the topp of this page) explaining the conversion problem to COM Profibus v5.1, and attaching your original file. There must be a Siemens Tech available who has seen this type of error before, even though the software is outdated.
